Our home is the dogs home. We live in a converted school and the dogs have the use of the full lower level a kennel of 300 sq meters.
This is cool in summer and warm in winter. They have access to outside at all times. The males and females are separated and each have their own inside living area and outside compounds.
They live together in small group apartments with a bedroom and play area and are only crated for feeding twice per day.
This ensures all dogs are receiving their required daily nutritional balanced food. We have an inside training ring as well as an area for grooming and health checks and weigh ins. For the future we are looking at building a spa so the dogs can benefit from swimming in the summer and in hot water in winter heated by our kennel central heating system.
Dachshunds are intelligent dogs and thrive on routine. They know when its feeding time and they know when to play and to sleep.
We have separate nursery and puppy pens so the mothers and puppies are separated from the main dogs once again with outside compounds. We do have older dogs and retired dogs that are not part of our breeding programme.
This is always a consideration when breeding as Dachshunds live long lives.
We are proud that we have an excellent set up for our dogs and know it is one of the best in the country.
